Up, Up, and Away
Received one more cortizone shot in my shoulder to try to hold me together until we can scurry home to have it fixed. Hopefully, this will hold for a couple of months if I lift nothing or do no repetitive tasks. Does this sound like a good first mate? It got so bad that Jerry had to open the car door for me. I was trying to be the optimist that is necessary for a good sailor, but it was becoming worse each day as the first cortizone shot wore off. I will go to the therapist for exact exercises and final instructions on Monday then we take off Monday afternoon. The doctor said absolutely no lifting of suitcases, but I found that I could still drag the boat parts with my left arm, no masochist I. As long as only that side of my brain is working? I'll be fine. I just don't know yet how I'll get the beer out of the refrigerator, but there must be a way. We are hoping this will not change too many of our summer plans although the shot only works for 2 months, and I can't have anymore or it may rupture the muscle. It sounds terrible, but it really isn't . I have another perfectly good shoulder and 2 on Jer. We are excited about getting Grace back into the water and getting out into Turkey's beautiful bays.
