Greece-here we are
Our poor little Gracie has been putting up with a lot from us lately. When we were coming around the cape into Crotone, the seas got very rambunctious so Jerry made Bessie work really hard. Just as we sighted the breakwater for Crotone, the engine overheat buzzer went off. Immediately, I panic. "Should I set up the anchor?"
"We're a sailboat. We just sail." Idling? down & a little sail, soon the buzzer was intermittent, and then Bessie was once again in control.
The next morning before we left Jerry cleaned the seawater intake. We started up & away we went leaving a cloud of black smoke trailing behind us. Jerry hollers & jumps down the companionway. We had forgotten to check the raw water which he had not turned back on. So much for our checklist. Bessie continues to run in spite of us.
Today, we sailed (sailed) from Italy to Greece dropping our hook next to one of the Ionian islands with the wind howling through our riggin which is not one of my favorite sounds. The weather report said NW winds so, of course, they are SE.
Miss you all x0x0x0x0
