  Ithaca

Just a quick one because the Captain informs me we will be sailing tomorrow. We have been waiting for our friends to get their engine lifted out of their boat which requires a lot of organization in a port with no chandleries, no diesel mechanics & no parts. It was supposed to be lifted yesterday, but the crane broke down. They have rented a beautiful, little apartment overlooking the bay with AC which has me very envious. I think that's why the Captain has decided to sail. We were going to wait until after the Olympics to tackle Athens, but there are still a few stops between here & there.

We are excited about stopping in Itea from where we will be able to consult the oracle at Delphi, although I think it's probably a little late for that. Either we will or we won't!! which is our philosophy in a nutshell. It seems to handle big & little situations very well. Either we'll hit the dock or we won't; either the anchor will hold or it won't; either the port will have diesel & water or it won't; either we'll have wind or we won't. You get the idea!! It's good exercise-shrugging your shoulders.

The Captain has informed me that I give him too many orders. I informed him that he gives me lots of orders & often so fast, my poor neurons go into overload. He informed me that that is what a captain is supposed to do-give orders-not take them. What's a galley slave to do?

Hoping to see you all soon-if you have AC
