We started toward Agropoli this morning. The day was so beautiful, we decided to sail on. 12 knots of wind just off the beam was not to be wasted in Port. We thought we would put in at Accioli, but the day was still going great. Several hours later, we put in at Camarota,55 nm from our starting point, and what a great place. An old Norman fort overlooks the port which is modern. We can have showers. The last 2 marinas had neither showers nor potties of any kind, but charged as if they had gold ones. There is even a laundry here within walking distance.
We sailed past Ulysses island of the Sirens. I stopped up my ears with beeswax and bound Jerry to the mast. I, then, sang Presley songs in my vibrant, big voice to drown out the sirens and Jerry's screams, and continued to bind him tighter until we were well past the Sirens.

We have both just finished Homer's Odyssey translated by Robert Fagles with a long intro. & notes by Bernard Knox. What great reading! Our Italian Pilot includes many references to Homer which makes each days sail more exciting.
