Our relay
We had so many people with whom we wanted to share our journey and so few places from which I could send aol that my good friend, Jeanne, who just retired from teaching has our list in her address book & is blinking our letters out for us. We still like to get a note to find out what is going on back there. We got a letter from Mary Kay Koehnke filling us in on the Packers.
Today, we sailed from Italy (Sardinia) to France (Corsica). We never even turned on the engine until we were in the harbor at Porta Vecchio & had to take the sail down. What a great day! When you can hear the waves sighing as they break near you, that is the stuff of dreams. I used to hear that at night when we sailed & think there were whales or dolphins alongside, but now I know when the waves are big & tired, barely moving along, they sigh as they topple over. I've had days like that. We had winds on the beam between 15 & 20 knots all the way. We sailed 38 nm & put our anchor down in another beautiful spot.
Tomorrow, we will go to immigration, check in & try to figure out where to go from here. We have instructions on how to catch the bus through the mountains to Bonifacio. For tonight, I will finish the book I was reading most of last night on anchor watch as we seemed to be dragging every closer to a big pile of rocks they call mountains.
