  Hampton Roads

We finally threw off the lines in Norfolk, although Isidore's
presence seemed a little daunting. We sailed down the Elizabeth
River past the entrance to the James R. about to sail over
the underwater tunnel when I smelled something
burning. I couldn't find anything in the cabin, but when I
popped up, Jerry said, "We're overheating!" We slowed and
watched the temp. Jerry headed for an anchorage at the
north side of the bridge, but didn't like its depths so we
headed into Hampton Roads and dropped the anchor in between
2 marinas. After we had cooled down, Jerry found our radiator
cap was leaking. It must have dried out while we were home.
I dug out a replacement and hopefully we are back in business,
but yesterday it rained all day, and today they are predicting
thunder storms so we will dinghy into town. There is a dinghy
landing near the Air & Space Museum, but I need some new
shoes. Hopefully tomorrow we will head again toward
Baltimore. We are hoping to get to the boat show in
Annapolis on Oct. 12th.
