Beaufort, SC Sat. June 29,2002 I think

Sean went home last Thursday, & we really miss him. He caught on to all our boat tasks right away. When we were coming from Ft. Lauderdale to Palm Beach, it was pouring so hard we couldn't see the buoys. He was always the first to find the way. We had to abort the inlet 3 times before the Captain felt it was safe to go in. It was great at Palm Beach. We were in the anchorage for several days and then we moved into the Palm Harbor Marina.
Sean left for home on Wed. Because of the constant rain, a new record for Palm Beach, we didn't get much sailing done. We left for Beaufort on Thursday and finally sailed out of the rain. There were constant lightning and spooky clouds over the mainland, but the sea was nice. We actually saw the moon for 2 nights. We sailed into Beaufort yesterday 360 nm, only to find we were supposed to go into Beaufort, NC to meet our friends. Anyway they're not here, but this is a great place.
We will go into the marina tomorrow to do laundry, clean Grace, get some groceries and head for Charleston. We did a horse & wagon tour of Beaufort this morning & wished that Sean was still here. We have a snowy egret that calls the tidewater grasses home living close to us & a dolphin who swims by several times a day. No alligators yet! We are trying to find a good place to put Grace on vacation for awhile.
