Still in San Pedro
Yes, we sure are slow! Only if you have been out here rocking
& rolling in 35 knot winds for 4 days can you appreciate why we
don't go faster. Weather windows are few & far between. David
Jones on Caribbean weather said there was a short weather window for this weekend, & Jerry said, "No way!" as he brought down the weather fax on our SSB. Sure enough 2 days later, the
weather window disappeared. 2 boats left for Isla Mujeres. This
morning on the net they reported 15 ft. seas/ 35 knots of wind.
We don't like to leave unless 6ft. waves or less are reported because they're always bigger than the weather reports say. Jerry gets the weather faxes 3-4 times a day out of New Orleans & is getting very good at prediction. We also subscribe to Southbound II, Herb the weather guru out of Canada who will give us personal weather everyday, if necessary. We listen to 2 weather guys each day on
the Panama Connection Net & the Northwest Caribbean Net
We have gotten caught a couple of times,
but in nothing we couldn't handle. I guess it's because we are
so slow. Right now we are wishing we were in Florida yesterday or
last week, or a long time ago. There is another Norther due next
Tuesday & our electrical system is still out of commission.
