Leaving-not on a jet plane!
Jerry has finally told me to pay the bill. He has picked the brain of our friends on Wild Rover so he has anchoring information from lots of sources for the Chesapeake. We will head for Baltimore tomorrow stopping in several places on the way. The Annapolis boat show is October 12th-that's part of the plan, but you know how our plans are. We didn't plan on staying in Norfolk this long, but we love it here. Uh,oh! Guess I've said that many, many times before. We plan on stopping at the Anchorage Marina in Baltimore. It's not in the inner harbor, but close. Les tells us that October in the Chesapeake is wonderful. I would like to take the commuter train north just for the fun of it, but there is so much to see and do, I don't think we'll get to it. We would like to tour Gettysburg, Antietam, Harper's Ferry and on and on. We have a reservation to put Grace on the hard at the Norfolk Boatyard around Nov. 1st to rebuild her transmission and repack her snuff box (stuffing box) check her bottom and leave her comfortable for the winter. I can't stand to think of months away from her, but I think Jer wants to build a patio and not worry about Grace while he's doing it. We have appointments in LV for the 6th of Nov., but I am all ready thinking of moving them back. We are just not very good at being on a schedule
If we stay this far north, maybe we'll get to Nova Scotia next year.
We really smell the roses along our way. When we get ready to cross the Atlantic, we'll probably break Columbus' record. They say most people don't enjoy the Azores as much as they should.
