Back Home
in Costa Rica
Back Home in Costa Rica Grace uses email as a primary means of communication.
The two months flew by without our having done all the things we intended, but getting back to Costa Rica and Grace was like coming home. This afternoon I walked to the bakery in between the raindrops, bought a sugar doughnut and ate it while walking home (Grace) and I said to myself, "I'm walking home in the rain in Golfito, Costa Rica eating the best sugar doughnut I have ever eaten."
We finally got our new radio working this afternoon, and have begun the countdown for sailing. Liberte, our buddy boat is getting crew tomorrow. Friday is a holiday and the port captain is closed Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Tuesday we will probably check out and sail around the corner to Panama. We want our next check-in to be Ecuador so will be on the road for awhile. The weather has been terrible in the Gulf of Panama; friends of ours sailed for Chile and reported on the radio this morning that they had to take refuge in Ecuador from high seas and strong winds. We do not sail when we get this kind of warning. It is so great here; it will be hard to sail.
