Swimming with Sea Lions
Grace uses email as a primary means of communication.
We are so lucky; everyday brings new adventures & new friends. Sunday we went on a dive boat; Jerry went diving with the sharks & the sea turtles; today we went to sea lion beach & went snorkeling with the sea lions. They just tumble & play all around you, sucking your fingers & nipping you. The daddy angrily hollers at you but really doesn't seem to care & the moms just keep careful watch sometimes swimming right into your face. The exotic fish are just unbelievable, the lagoon, a small protected lava rock pool on the ocean is fairly shallow & free from the ocean surf which is breaking right outside its confines. On Saturday we will sail to Santa Cruz where we will book a tour to the other islands. San Cristobal, where we checked in allows us to explore a lot on our own, but since the Galapagos are a national park it is necessary to take a naturalist with you to the other islands.
We will then head back to Panama; Lu & Rick are planning on going through the canal with us, then we are off to Cartagena.
Have a wonderful Christmas.
