  Ithaca, Greece

The statue and park are in Stavros, Ithaca where archeaologists think they have found positive evidence of Ulysses castle where Penelope held off the suitors for 10 yrs. waiting for Ulysses to return from his "Odyssey". The statue is Ulysses looking out over the 3 bodies of water which surrounded his island of goats. The island is so steep and rocky that, Ulysses son, Telemachus, turned down a gift of stallions. Ithaca, despite its beauty is a place of goats.
